Many have asked for a more precise version of the standard neck tension gage. For precision handloading of 224/308 calibers, this neck tension gauge offers smaller steps of 0.001" to measure neck tension from 0 - 0.004". Same as with the standard gauge, using this gauge offers a greater level of precision vs trying to read neck tension with calipers, because the case mouth can easily stretch or have an internal burr that will throw off caliper measurements.
An additional feature of the 1 thousandth steps is that reading this gauge is as simple as counting the number of rings that are visible. If 3 rings are visible, you have 3 thousandths of neck tension. This gage is for 224 diameter and 308 diameter brass. It will do calibers such as .223 Remington, 5.56 NATO, 7.62 NATO, .308, .30/06, and many more.
This gage begins at .308, so it may be unable to read neck tensions for the less common .310 or .312 calibers.
